Vision Gallery Opening Reception

The Vision Gallery’s 28th Art Quilt Exhibition opening reception was full of more fun, incredible fiber art, and comradery than I ever imagined. Meeting so many talented artists and hearing their art creation stories is the way I want to spend every Saturday night. Designs inspired by justice, history, architecture, family memories, politics, and nature were all vibrantly present.

Shelly White juried the exhibit. Her choice of theme “Art Quilts: Breaking Rules, Honoring Tradition” allowed for a wide range of styles. Free-standing sculpture, mini-quilts to large wall art were honored. Thank you to Shelly White for curating such a beautiful exhibition.

If you were not able to go to the opening reception, I encourage you to drive to Chandler to see it. The breadth of styles will be guaranteed to keep your eyes entertained. Some of the art is for sale and would make great holiday gifts. Caroline Hudson-Naef of the Chandler Center of the Arts hosted the event and was a pro at displaying the works of art.

Now I had better get to creating so I can enter the juried exhibition next year!
