Bleeding Ideals juried into the SAQA show “Matters at Heart”

Very excited to announce that Bleeding Ideals has been juried into the SAQA show “Matters at Heart” that will travel throughout Arizona venues. The show is about exploring core values, dilemmas, global issues, politics and matters of the heart. Bleeding Ideals touches on our political dilemma in the U.S. Why is finding middle ground between the parties so difficult? Not only has compromise become a dirty word but blood has been spilled.

Dye was used to create blood splatter across both parties. Threads were used to depict the party positions. White thread is in the middle representing the reasonable people who will compromise freely. That group has narrowed considerable in Congress and in the general public so this area is a small portion of the quilt space. The threads switch to pale pink and blue to represent another small fraction that are able to compromise on issues. The threads quickly turn to true red and blue with the outer fringes turning deeper colors than the parties use in their marketing which reflects the far left and right who will no longer compromise.

I hope you see it at one of Arizona venues over the next year and reflect on all the good that can come out of compromise. Peace be with you.
